Vocational Training Charitable Trust is a national charity offering Qualifications and Units accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) for England and Wales and the Scottish Qualifications Authority for Scotland. These are National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and individual Units and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) and individual Units. They are equivalent in their requirements.
VTCT is the largest provider of qualifications in massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. This sector is growing very rapidly and new qualifications for skills like Reiki and Crystal Therapy are added to meet practitioners demands.
VTCT also offers Qualifications in its own right and also through its divisions, the International Health & Beauty Council (IHBC), the International Institute of Health & Holistic Therapies (IIHHT) and the International Institute of Sports Therapy (IIST). These are International qualifications based upon competence standards assessed and verified in a similar manner to S/NVQs. So, there is the possibility of transfer between these and NVQs and SVQs where this is appropriate.
