The Association was founded in 1988 in order to promote therapies that can be termed light touch - all the gentle techniques which help the body to heal itself. We speak for the many less well known therapies that use touch techniques to realign the subtle energy fields of the body.
ALTT is affiliated to the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA) - a multi-therapy umbrella body providing a central information point about Complementary Medicine for the public.
Therapists wishing to join ALTT must show a certificate of training and have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance cover. ALTT encourages a compassionate attitude to clients and Members work to a Code of Conduct as laid down by the BCMA.
A register is available to the general public and a Newsletter is published to keep members in touch with each other and with legislation affecting practice. Some members are also trainers in their particular therapy, but the Association is not a training organisation.
